George Hieronymus CPA
Founder
George Hieronymus is the patriarch of Alabama’s only active three generation accounting firm and established the family’s commitment to integrity from his earliest days in the business. Like his son and grandsons, George graduated from the University of Alabama’s Accounting program in 1960 and worked for a large local practice, eventually becoming a partner. With son Mark’s graduation from the accounting program at UA in 1987, George A. Hieronymus & Co. was formed and continued to add partners over the coming years. By 1999, the thriving company was on the grow and merged with Hudson, Gaillard & Jones – creating Hieronymus, Gaillard & Jones, LLC. Another merger with Wilkins, Miller, PC in 2009 created the largest accounting firm in the Mobile Bay area. Wilkins, Miller Hieronymus grew to 65 employees and more than 30 CPAs and opened an office in Baldwin County. With the arrival in 2015 of yet another Hieronymus CPA – grandson Forrest – the family returned to its roots with a smaller firm and the ability to better serve client partners with individualized solutions. George continues to work with longtime clients from his office – at home with wife Jane on his beloved Fowl River.
